| Open Source - Our commitment to Open Source support for VR applications is very important to us. The following are Open Source projects that have their beginnings from research conducted at VRAC. | ||||||||||||||||
|
AQUA-G AQUA-G is a gesture recognition framework being developed by Jay Roltgen as part of his M.S. Thesis in Computer Engineering and Human Computer Interaction at Iowa State University. The API allows developers to easily add new events and gestures to the system, because it is not necessary to recompile the entire system to add a new event, gesture, or input device. |

Deltajug This project maintains a special build of the open source Delta3D game engine which is tailored for integration into a VR Juggler cluster application. Deltajug modifies the Delta3D engine's entire run loop to be exposed for integration with a VR Juggler render loop. Developed by VRAC Ph.D candidates Christian Noon and Brandon Newendorp.

OpenSGToolbox OpenSGToolbox is a collection of libraries that add to the features of OpenSG 2 . They were written to add support for animation, sound, user interfaces, advanced particles systems, embedded scripting, rigid body physics, video game tools, videos, windowing system abstraction, octrees, A* path planning, and more. OpenSGToolbox is not an engine, but it was built with the idea that it could be used by a game engine. This work can be of great use to developers using OpenSG, and
to get more people excited about the capabilities of using OpenSG together
with OpenSGToolbox.

osgAudio osgBullet is an OpenSceneGraph nodekit that wraps OpenAL and FMOD to enable sound toolkits in OSG. osgAudio is part of the VE-Suite project developed by Professor Mark Bryden.
|
osgBullet osgBullet is a set of software tools for applications that use both OpenSceneGraph (OSG) and Bullet. osgBullet is part of the VE-Suite project developed by Professor Mark Bryden.
|
osgWorks osgWorks is a set of applications and software tools useful to OpenSceneGraph(OSG) software developers. osgWorks is part of the VE-Suite project developed by Professor Mark Bryden.

VE Suite VE-Suite is an open source virtual engineering design analysis toolkit/software package developed by Iowa State Professor Mark Bryden and a team of VRAC researchers. Currently, VE-Suite is used in several large organizations: John Deere, NETL, REI, and INL (Idaho National Laboratory). VE-Suite allows users to take complex data and orchestrate them into a more easily understood representation in two or three dimensions. VE-Suite is an extensible software architecture and is composed of several tools, including VE-Builder, VE-Conductor, VE-Explorer, and VE-Designer. Currently, this package can read, display, and combine multiple steady and transient data sets including experimental data, CAD data, and CFD/FEA results in both two and three dimensions. For more information on this article, please contact Dr. Kenneth M. Bryden. |

VR Juggler VR Juggler, the most popular Open Source tool set for developing virtual reality applications, was developed by a talented team of faculty, graduate and undergraduate students at VRAC. It is being use in hundreds of sites world-wide and includes support for most of the popular computer platforms and virtual reality systems. VR Juggler's clustering capabilities are a key element of the software infrastructure supporting the 100 Million pixel C6 immersive virtual reality environment. |
